The association of surgeons of India, Jharkhand chapter conducted a workshop on ‘Research Methodology’ today in the Auditorium of Tata Main Hospital, Jamshedpur.
The workshop on research methodology was inaugurated by retired Air Marshal Dr. Rajan Chaudhary, the General Manager of the Medical Services of the Tata Steel.
In morning session, prominent surgeons of the country delivered lecturers associated with the research methodology. Dr Sunil Kumar delivered lecture on ‘types of research study’, Dr Alka Pandey on ‘designing of a study/thesis’, Dr Vinita Singh on ‘evidence based medicine’, Dr. Ramanuj Mukherjee on ‘how to write a paper for publication in the indexed journal’ Dr. Meena Samant on ‘ethics in research’ Dr. Rudrajit Sinha on ‘Applied bio statistics’ and Dr. Arunima Verma on ‘clinical trials’.
In the afternoon session another lecture was delivered by Dr. Partha de on ‘recent update on human papilloma virus disease-burden and prevention’ followed by panel discussion on ‘how to critique a journal’.
The workshop was attended by eminent surgeons, gynaecologists, otolaryngologists, dentists, anaesthesiologists of the country and several DNB students studying in the Tata Main Hospital.
On this occasion, the website of the Jharkhand chapter of the Association of the Surgeons of India was launched.
